The European Labour Authority (ELA) is an EU agency established in 2019 to ensure fair and effective labour mobility across the European Union. Based in Bratislava, it helps coordinate cross-border enforcement of EU labour and social security laws, supports joint labour inspections, provides information to workers and employers about their rights, and promotes cooperation between national authorities. ELA also plays a key role in tackling undeclared work and resolving disputes between countries, strengthening protections for mobile workers and fostering fair competition across Member States.
